In this class we will create a paper clay and fabric doll using glass beads for the eyes and arm joints. The doll body is a simple sewn bodysuit with a wire armature and her head and face, upper bodice, arms and lower legs are sculpted from paper clay.
Dear Deer Doll is approximately 10 inches not including her antlers and is semi posea-ble.
In class we will cover sculpting, sanding , painting, and sealing techniques with Pdf files that include many photos to lead you visually. We will also Wig, Assemble and then Cloth and embellish the doll.
We will finish up with my Soldered Antler technique, and then create her tiny Deer doll .
I will also include a few short videos so I can really demonstrate certain important techniques
I am excited to bring this class to you through the Art Connection Summit!
My lifelong Art Journey has led me to creating Dolls primarily sculpted from Paper Clay. I also incorporate Vintage fabric, metal, and anything else that I find interesting from my antique treasure hunts!
I love sharing my doll making knowledge by teaching , and every time I teach I also learn from the students. I feel that when we get together in numbers to be creative we “touch” spirit and we awaken a little more.
